POP or IMAP?

Personal and Business Email Packages only have POP account Capabilities. Email Ultimate Business accounts have unlimited storage and IMAP capabilites which allow you to sinc across all devices.

What is the difference between POP and IMAP?

POP stands for Post Office Protocol, and was designed as a simple way to access a remote email server. The most recent version is POP 3, and is supported by virtually all email clients and servers.

POP works by downloading your emails from your provider’s mail server, and then marking them for deletion there. This means you can only ever read those email messages in that email client, on that computer. You will not be able to access any previously downloaded emails from any other device, or with any other email client, or through webmail.

IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol, and was designed specifically to eliminate the limitations of POP.

IMAP allows you to access your emails from any client, and any device, and webmail login at any time, until you delete them. You are always seeing the same emails, no matter how you access your provider’s server.

Since your email is stored on the provider’s server and not locally, you may run into email storage limits, when using IMAP.

Open your Mail app. (The steps to set up email on your Android device may vary depending on the make, model and your network provider.)
If you already have an email account set up, press Menu and tap Accounts.
Press Menu again and tap Add account.
Type your Email address and Password, and click Next.
Tap IMAP.
Enter these settings for the incoming server:

IMAP (Incoming mail server)

Username Enter your full email address.

Password Enter your email account password.

IMAP server imap.secureserver.net

Port 993

Security type SSL
Enter these settings for the outgoing server:

SMTP (Outgoing mail server)

SMTP server smtpout.secureserver.net

Port 465

Security type SSL
Select Require sign-in and make sure your Username (your full email address) and Password are correct.
Tap Next.
Tap Next again. Then name your account and enter the name you want to display on outgoing messages.
Tap Done.
That’s it. Send yourself a test email from your webmail, to make sure you can send and receive mail on your Android mail app.

Open Apple Mail.
Note: First time setting up your Apple Mail account? See set up mail with your email account.
Select Other Mail Account, and click Continue.

Complete the following fields:

Name	Enter the name you want to display to others as the email sender.
Email Address	Enter your Professional email address.
Password	Enter your Professional email address password.

Click Sign In.

Note: If you see a message that says “Unable to verify account name or password,” enter the Mail server settings and click Sign In.

Click Done, your Workspace Email account will display in Apple Mail.

Set up your Workspace Email account on your iPhone or iPad mail app. Then you can send and receive business emails from your phone. Alternatively, you can add your Workspace email to your Outlook app

Open the Settings app.
Tap Wi-Fi and tap the toggle button to turn it off.
Tap the Settings button to go back to the Settings screen.
On the Settings screen, tap the Accounts & Password option.
Tap Add Account.
Tap Other.
Tap Add Mail Account.
Enter your account details, and tap Next.
Tap IMAP.
Under New Account, in the Incoming Mail Server section enter:
- Host name as “imap.secureserver.net”
- Your Workspace email User Name and Password
In the Outgoing Mail Server section enter:
- Host name as “smtpout.secureserver.net”
- Your Workspace email User Name and Password
Tap Next. Your mobile device will begin verifying your settings. This may take several minutes.
Tap Save.
Turn your wifi back on in the Settings screen.
Tap Mail to open the app.
To test your account, compose an email and send it to yourself. Reply to that message, to make sure your outgoing server works.
